Students who submit their Student Awards Agency Scotland application before the 30th June will have their funding in place for the start of term. Any applications received later than this deadline may not have funding put in place in time for the start of studies.

Students do not need to wait for exam results or an unconditional offer before applying. Those details can easily be updated at a later date. It's more important for them to apply now, with the right documents to secure their funding.

Applications can be made on the SAAS website at www.saas.gov.uk and the hints and tips section on the website provides answers to the most frequently asked questions.

Commenting Christina McKelvie MSP for Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse said:

“I am strongly encouraging students across Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse to apply for their SAAS funding – whether it is for fees, bursaries or loans - before 30th June to ensure they have their funding in place for the start of term.

“Starting studies should be an enjoyable time and the last thing students will want is to be worrying about whether their funding is going to come through in time. The good news is that any applications made before 30th June are guaranteed to be processed on time.
