"NHS Lanarkshire have confirmed new cases of COVID-19 in Hamilton. The cases include a pupil has tested positive for coronavirus in Holy Cross High School in Hamilton, a staff member in First Steps Nursery School in Hamilton, a pupil in Holycross High School in Hamilton and a staff member in Udston Primary School in Hamilton. Detailed contact tracing has taken place and close contacts of the affected pupil have been advised to self-isolate. The risk from these pupils to the wider school community is assessed as low and the school remains fully open and operational. NHS Lanarkshire have reassured the local community that appropriate measures are being implemented.
 
"Parents, carers and pupils of affected schools should receive a letter from NHS Lanarkshire with more information. Our offices are also in ongoing communication with NHS Lanarkshire and will monitor the situation as it develops.
