Nicola Sturgeon today announced that Scotland will move to phase 1 of the COVID-19 routemap from 29th May. This means many of the restrictions that we have all faced in lockdown will be eased.
This includes being able to see other households as long as you meet them outside and maintain a 2 metre distance and avoid touching the same surfaces (For example if having a picnic you would need to bring your own cutlery). You should also continue to wash your hands regularly.
We are still urging you to stay at home as much as possible and maintain strict physical distancing when outdoors.
The only reason this easing of the lockdown rules is possible is because of the sacrifices you have made and for that I am hugely grateful. by continuing to observe social distancing and hygiene guidelines we can continue to tackle COVID-19 and if successful further relax the restrictions that are slowing down the spread of the virus.
