A Hamilton parliamentarian has given her support to a new fundraising group. Christina McKelvie – MSP for Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse - attended an information session last week in support of Marie Curie's new Hamilton fundraising group.
She said: "I was delighted to continue my great relationship with Marie Curie and pop along to their Hamilton fundraising group information session.
"Terminal illness diagnosis and treatment can be a very isolating experience.
"With the expert help and guidance from Marie Curie, and their wonderful network of volunteers, we can support people through that journey.
“I would encourage everyone throughout my constituency to consider sparing just a few hours to volunteer with their local Marie Curie fundraising and awareness groups.
Together, we can support people through terminal illness."
Margaret Mowat, Hamilton fundraising group member, said:
"Being a part of the new Hamilton fundraising group for Marie Curie is really exciting.
"Hamilton has so much potential to support such a wonderful charity, and I'm hoping we can make a huge difference and raise lots of cash."
The new group is looking for volunteers. Contact Georgia Ramplin, community fundraiser, on 07730 619 485.
