Hamilton Primary school meet with local MSP in Parliament
St Peter’s Primary School in Hamilton had their day out in the Scottish Parliament this week as the South Lanarkshire school received a tour and education session of the Parliament.
Being quizzed on their knowledge, the Primary 5/6 peoples learned more about their local MSPs and the history of the Scottish Parliament.
St Peter’s then held a meeting with local MSP for Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse, Christina McKelvie.
Christina, who recently celebrated her 10th year as an MSP for the people of South Lanarkshire, was happy to take questions from the St Peter’s pupils.
Commenting after the meeting, Christina McKelvie MSP said:
“It was a real pleasure to meet with the pupils of St Peter’s Primary school as they took the time to visit the Scottish Parliament.
“The pupils are an absolute credit to their school and are great ambassadors for the community.
“From Brexit to human rights, there was no hiding from their grilling! As it should be, the pupils were keen to learn more about how the Parliament functions and how I represent them all as their constituency MSP.
“I was delighted to speak with the pupils and the staff and I look forward to visiting with them again in the future.
