Harleslee Primary School visit

Christina McKelvie MSP meets with Primary schools in Parliament

Larkhall’s Hareleeshill Primary School had their day in Parliament as the Primary 6 pupils were given a tour of the Scottish Parliament.

In addition to a tour, the pupils were put through their paces in a classroom session, learning more about the history of the parliament and the role of their local MSPs.

On hand for the day was local MSP for Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse, Christina McKelvie MSP, who gave an overview of her role as constituency MSP.

Christina, first elected in 2007 and re-elected as the constituency MSP since 2011, held a further question and answer session for the inquisitive pupils.

Commenting on the visit, SNP MSP Christina McKelvie said:

“It was an absolute joy to have the pupils of Hareleeshill Primary School in the Scottish Parliament and I thank them for taking the time to meet me.

“From parliamentary process to potholes, the pupils were certainly not holding anything back in with their questions to me!”

“It’s clear to see the hard work ethic, confidence and maturity of the pupils shining through. They are an absolute credit to their school and their community and it was a total pleasure to welcome them to national parliament.
