Christina McKelvie MSP on hand to open high-end fashion retailer

High end fashion hit Hamilton this week as ladies fashion retailer Wilkies opened in the Regent Shopping Centre.

The retailer, specialising in bespoke designer ladies wear and with stores throughout Scotland, held their grand opening with local MSP for Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse, Christina McKelvie, on hand to officially open the store.

Offering the latest styles in fashion and footwear, the retailer offered the first 20 customers a free £10 gift voucher, with a free goody bag on hand with every purchase.

Welcoming Wilkies to the town centre, SNP MSP Christina McKelvie added:

“This is just another example of the continued investment and regeneration that is going on within our town centre.

“Wilkies offer affordable, designer and fashionable ladies wear right here in the heart of Hamilton.

“Whilst we have a long way to go and we won’t rest on our laurels, it’s great to see that the town centre regeneration plan from myself and Angela Crawley MP is having an impact.

“Hamilton continues to show its ability as a great place to invest, work and study and I would encourage all to see for yourself the immense potential that our town holds.

Karen Forret, Owner & Managing Director at Wilkies commenting:

“We are delighted to be open in Hamilton! We have been looking for the right location to open in the west of the country for quite some time now and we are confident we have found it.

“We feel we will be filling a gap in Hamilton’s High Street by bringing back some ever popular brands to the stylish ladies of the town allowing them to shop locally for brands they love rather than having to travel into the city.

“We are very thankful for the warm welcome we have received from the town so far and it was fantastic to have Christina’s support on our opening day.”
