Cadzow Parish Church Heritage Lottery Fund

 

MSP for Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse, Christina McKelvie MSP celebrates Cadzow heritage project

 

Cadzow Parish Church celebrated receiving a potential £250,000 lottery funding bonanza at the weekend (Saturday 26th August), as they ‘raised the roof’ on their fundraising project.

The project, which is supported through the Heritage Lottery Fund, aims to raise money for repairs to the sanctuary of the church, whilst also contributing towards the Cadzow Choir and Organ Hub.

Christina McKelvie, MSP for Hamilton Larkhall and Stonehouse, was on hand as the project officially launched.

Commenting, Christina said:

“Cadzow Parish Church are yet another example of a thriving, volunteer led and inspiring organisation within my constituency.

“Evelyn, the Choir and all the team put on a fantastic family fun-day on Saturday and they certainly did ‘raise the roof’.

“Thanks to their tireless fundraising, and the support from not only the Heritage Lottery Fund but from everyone throughout the community, I have no doubt that Cadzow Parish Church will go from strength to strength and achieve the much needed funds to repair the Church, ensuring that the parish are here for many more years to come.”

SNP Councillor for Hamilton South,  Josh Wilson, added:

"I was delighted to join volunteers at Cadzow Parish Church this weekend and help them raise funds for their new roof.

"The group do fantastic work Hamilton and I'm looking forward to working closely with them over my term in office.
