MSP donates to campaign thanks to IPSOS MORI
The Time for Inclusive Education campaign received a donation from Christina McKelvie MSP as she handed over the proceeds of the Ipsos MORI annual MSP survey.
The survey, which canvassed the views of MSPs regarding the most pressing issues concerning their parliamentary and constituency work, was completed last July (2016). Christina dedicated her participation fee from the survey to the TIE Campaign, handing over a cheque of £150.
Commenting on the donation, Christina said:
“Every year I partake in numerous surveys who offer MSPs a small remuneration for our participation – which of course I never accept.
“I’m far happier to donate the money to a worthy cause and in the TIE Campaign we have one of the worthiest causes throughout Scotland.
“Jordan and Liam have taken TIE to the forefront of Scottish civic life. From the protest lines to Parliament, TIE has evolved in stature but remained central to their cause – that cause being helping young LGBTI people defeat homophobia and transphobia through inclusive education approach.
“I have been grateful to work with the TIE campaign over the past year as we have collectively worked together to improve the lives of young LGBTI people in Scotland.
Commenting on the donation, co-founder of the TIE campaign, Jordan Daly said:
“We are extremely grateful to Christina for her generous donation.
“As many will know, our campaign receives no consistent funding - therefore, donations like this form the lifeblood of our work.
“This donation will allow us to print and distribute our free LGBTI-inclusive education resources to more teaching staff and pupils across the country.
“As such, Christina's continued support is very much appreciated.”
