The £410 million Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband (DSSB) programme personnel are busy installing fibre broadband across Scotland, connecting as many people as possible to high-speed internet.
Christina McKelvie MSP will be hosting the Digital Scotland Fibre Cabinet launch in Hamilton, this coming Monday [5th September]
The launch will be held at Miller Street in Hamilton, with attendance from Christina, members of the DSSB team and the Digital Scotland Showcase Vehicle – on hand to show the benefits of high-speed broadband.
Commenting on the launch, Christina said:
“I’m very excited to be hosting the Digital Scotland Fibre Cabinet launch right here in my constituency.
“I’ve received numerous calls and emails regarding the roll-out of high speed broadband throughout Scotland, so this issue is clearly important to the people of Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse.
“In today’s online-dependent digital world, access to broadband has become a basic utility rather than an add-on. Every kind of small business depends on a fast, efficient connection. Families with relatives far distant want it to chat to their children and grandchildren. Everyone wants to be able to browse the internet to get the kind of information and news they want instantly.
“It is encouraging to see that BT is recognising the need to make superfast fast broadband accessible for all.”
“I’m sure the event will be huge success and I look forward to welcoming the DSSB team to Hamilton”
