Christina McKelvie with National Apprentice winner, Graeme Hogg, and Minister for Employability and Training, Jamie Hepburn MSP

Christina McKelvie MSP, Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse, has congratulated three Hamilton apprentices who won all three of the Scottish Gas UK National Apprentice of the Year awards.

Christina said: “These three young men are a fantastic example of just what can be achieved with the right environment and a real willingness to learn important skills. Chris Moyes, David Crawford and Graeme Hogg deserve to be commended for their dedication, skill and craftsmanship as they progress through their apprenticeships.

“The Scottish Gas Academy also deserves recognition for its first-class preparation for apprentices learning their trade. This is a fantastic facility that is serving young people really well and building the kinds of skills and employability attributes that we need.”

Christina has placed a Motion in the Scottish Parliament recognising the skills and commitment of the three apprentices.
