High end fashion has hit the streets of Hamilton as Revolve Recycle opens its newest swap shop boutique.
Christina McKelvie, MSP for Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse, visited the store today to see learn more about Revolve’s ethical, environmentally friendly approach to clothes recycling.
Building on their successful stores in Cambuslang and Rutherglen, Revolve Recycling aims to reduce textile Co2 emissions and waste. As part of their mission statement, Revolve also educate their customers on the impact that clothes manufacturing has on the environment.
Commenting on the visit, Christina said:
“Having ethical, environmentally friendly projects here in the heart of Hamilton shows the diverse range of shops the town can attract.
“Revolve have already shown themselves as a responsible, not-for-profit social enterprise and I was delighted to come along today.
“It’s not just the products within the shop; it’s the principles that underpin it. Revolve are committed to spreading awareness of the positive impact clothes recycling can have on the environment, whilst promoting responsible textile waste management.
“There’s no exchange of money – it’s fashion for free. All Revolve ask is that you swap your chosen item with a pre-loved item of your own.
“Also, they offer fantastic peer-to-peer volunteering opportunities for all to get involved in.
“I would encourage everyone to take a trip along Cadzow Street and either pick up a bargain or pick up some inspiration – perhaps even both.”
