First elected in January 2016 to represent Hamilton North & East ward, I am proud to represent my home ward, in my home town. I live with my partner, our three kids and our family pets - I love this area and care deeply about our people and our town. My kids attend an excellent local schools and my job as a councillor is to help ensure the best possible future for all our children, friends, family and neighbours.
I want to see the people of Hamilton - and wider Scotland - prosper and fulfil their potential: we all deserve decent jobs, decent homes, and a voice in decisions that affect us. I believe an independent Scotland will empower local people to influence decisions that affect our lives, bringing opportunities for a fairer more equal society that looks after everyone, particularly our most vulnerable people.
As a member of the current SNP administration @SouthLanCouncil I am proud of policy initiatives introduced since May 2017. These include free school breakfast and holiday lunchtime activity clubs, automatic entitlement to free meals and uniform grants, plus our council house building programme and progressive plans for improving Hamilton town centre.
Our SNP council group will keep bringing forward policies that help protect children, disabled, and elderly residents from the impact of unnecessary Westminster austerity policies, and focus on making South Lanarkshire a great place to work, live, and play!
